Scope of application of the ServiRed Intra-network Rates
The ServiRed Intra-Network Interchange Rates apply to those transactions that are carried out by Issuing and Acquiring Financial Institutions when both are Members of the ServiRed network.
Procedure for Assigning ServiRed Intra-network Rates
The assignment of interchange rates is governed by the "Acuerdo Marco" ("Framework Agreement") signed last December 2, 2005, with the acceptance of the Public Administration, between the three Spanish payment networks (on behalf of the financial institutions) and the main merchant associations. The agreement establishes that merchants will be classified in one of three tiers based on their total volume of card transactions:
| VOLUME TIERS |
| Euros (€) |
| 0 - 100 million € |
| 100 - 500 million € |
| More than 500 million € |
The agreement sets values of differentiated rates for credit transactions (as a percentage) and debit transactions (in euro cents per transaction).
As of 00:01 h. on 5th August 2009, the maximum values of ServiRed Intra-network rates will be as follows:
| TIERS |
Credit (%) |
Debit (€) |
| 0 - 100 million € |
0.79% |
0.35€ |
| 100 - 500 million € |
0.53% |
0.21€ |
| More than 500 million € |
0.45% |
0.18€ |
